Pastor Dan Lindsey

After serving 1 ½ years as an Assistant Pastor in Tampa, Florida, Dan was ordained into the ministry at Ottumwa Baptist Temple in December 1980. He pastored Ocean Shores Baptist Church in the resort community of Ocean Shores, Washington for 17 years, from January 1981 to December 1997. For 7 years, from 1998 to 2005, he was the Pastor of Mark Baptist Church, a country church south of Bloomfield, Iowa. In December 2005, Dan became the Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Sauk City. The Lindsey's first daughter, Stacie, was born with severe cerebral palsy. She died March 27, 1997 at the age of 14. Their three living children are Heidi, Joshua, and Amber. Heidi is married to Daniel Lentz, who now serves as the Assistant Pastor at Calvary.    Joshua, and his wife, Heather, live in Fargo, North Dakota, where Josh serves as Administrative Assistant at Master’s Baptist College, a ministry of Fargo Baptist Church.   Amber is still at home, serving locally at our church.

Daniel Lentz was born into a Christian home, and made a profession of faith at about age 8.   He grew up with a desire to follow the Word of God.   Later, in his teenage years, he began to experience doubts about his salvation, wondering if he really understood or meant it.  During a week of Bible camp at age 17, he made sure of his salvation, and trusted Jesus Christ alone for eternal life.   God changed his life, and began to give him fresh desires to serve Him.

The next year, Daniel sensed God was calling him to be a preacher of His Word.  He received a B.A. in Pastoral Studies from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 2013, and an M.B.S. from Baptist College of Ministry's seminary in 2017.

Daniel met his wife, Heidi, at Calvary Baptist Church, where they were married in June 2013.   In the fall of 2017, they returned to Calvary, where Daniel now serves as the Assistant Pastor.   He teaches the Teen Bible study, leads the congregational singing and church choir, preaches monthly, and helps with outreach.   Daniel and Heidi both desire to see souls saved and believers surrender their lives to the will of God, that they might see the joy of walking with Him.

Having grown up in a very musical home, Daniel plays the piano and violin and sings.   He has a deep love for godly, Biblical music and desires to see the great hymns of the faith continue to be sung in uplifting praise to the Lord.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys learning about American and church history, driving his vintage Farmall tractor, and attending antique farm equipment shows and historical reenactments.

At the age of 17, Dan Lindsey was led to the Lord by an evangelist on March 28, 1975. Pastor A.D. Pringle of Ottumwa Baptist Temple in Ottumwa, Iowa baptized him on April 27 of the same year. Shortly thereafter, he began to sense God’s calling to become a preacher. That fall Dan began his biblical training at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. In 1979, he graduated with a B.A. in Theology. He met his wife, Connie at Ottumwa Baptist Temple and was married on June 9, 1979. Connie was saved and baptized at this same church when she was 12 years old. On June 9, 2014, Connie and Dan celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.
